Important note on L’Oreal batch codes
March 5th, 2013
Please notice, that several digits prefixed with “EMB” on L’Oreal products are not batch codes, but reference numbers.
Such reference number could not be used to identify the production date.
Example of such reference number: EMB99127
Basic differences between reference number and batch code:
- batch code identifies the batch in which the product was produced; in most cases it is based on manufacturing date & time.
- reference number is internal product specification.
Please do not use reference numbers for calculation; this will lead to completely wrong and unexpected results.
Get a closer look at your product and find the batch code.
Most of latest L’Oreal batch codes have 6 alphanumeric characters without “EMB” prefix, for example: 44J500.
